So I’ve been working on doing more crochet. I can do something that resembles a single crochet, and something that resembles a half double crochet. The problem is, I always seem to combine or lose the number of stitches I have in my chain. I have no clue what’s going on, and that’s the truth. Perhaps I need to find someone who can help me more with this. Anyone have any ideas where to get crochet help?

Can't give you any direct advice as crochet is not something I even remotely understand. Have you tried knittinghelp.com? Maybe they will have something.

Yeah, that's a good idea, actually. I have books that explain crochet, but only in the context of adding them to knitting.

try taking a look at the happy hooker book by Debbie Stroller. Also try crochet stitch markers every 5 stitches and count every time.to help stay in line.

I have the SnB book by Debbie Stoller, and love it, so I will check out that book. I also like the stitch marker idea. Thank you!

I think you just need to practice and your stitches will get better.
